SPAR Austria additional EUR 10.21 million price-coordination fine

Summary

In June 2016 the Austrian Cartel Court imposed an additional EUR 10.21 million fine on SPAR Österreichische Warenhandels-AG and other SPAR group companies for vertical price-coordination measures with food-retail suppliers between July 2002 and December 2013. The conduct concerned areas including beer, non-alcoholic beverages, flour and baking products, delicatessen, seasoning and convenience products. The additional fine raised the total SPAR penalties from the proceedings to EUR 40.21 million.
