Yettel unfairly obstructed customers from terminating service contracts

Summary

Bulgaria's Supreme Administrative Court upheld a Sofia Administrative Court judgment rejecting Yettel Bulgaria's challenge to a Consumer Protection Commission order. The order prohibited an unfair commercial practice in which customers' submitted service-cancellation requests and paid monetary obligations were not reflected in Yettel's system, obstructing consumers' contractual right to terminate services. The Consumer Protection Commission order was issued on 10 October 2023 and the Supreme Administrative Court later left the lower-court ruling in force, making the prohibition final.
