Italian regulator fined Armani €3.5 million over misleading ethical and social-responsibility claims

On 29 July 2025, Italy's Competition Authority (AGCM) found that Giorgio Armani S.p.A. and G.A. Operations S.p.A. used misleading ethical and social-responsibility statements from 22 April 2022 through 18 February 2025. AGCM said those claims conflicted with working and safety conditions found at suppliers and subcontractors producing Armani-branded leather goods, and imposed a combined €3.5 million administrative fine.
