In September 2020, AGCM found that Poste Italiane misleadingly promoted registered-mail delivery and digital-withdrawal services and documented repeated cases in which delivery attempts were not made even though recipients were present. AGCM initially imposed the then-statutory maximum €5 million fine; after court proceedings, AGCM redetermined the fine at €2.5 million in May 2024 while retaining the infringement finding.
