The President of UOKiK found that Allegro abused its dominant position on the allegro.pl marketplace by favouring its own online store over independent sellers using the platform. In a separate December 2022 consumer-protection decision, the President of UOKiK found that Allegro used prohibited clauses giving itself broad rights to unilaterally amend contractual terms, including terms governing the paid Smart service. UOKiK found that consumers who prepaid for multi-month services had a right to expect the agreed conditions to remain stable and imposed a PLN 3,970,677 fine.
