Greek competition authority found Athenian Brewery abused its dominant position for fifteen years
HCC Decision 590/2014 found that Athenian Brewery abused its dominant position through a long-running policy designed to exclude or limit competitors, including exclusivity terms and incentives at retail and wholesale level. The conduct ran from September 1998 until the 2014 decision. The HCC initially imposed a €31,451,211 fine; its case page records later appellate judgments, including Council of State Decision 985/2023. That final judicial review upheld the infringement finding while the appellate process reduced the fine to €26,733,529.18.
