Bank Millennium fined PLN 10.46 million over abusive foreign-exchange clauses
In September 2020 the President of UOKiK found that Bank Millennium used prohibited clauses governing how foreign-exchange rates were determined for mortgage repayments, including Swiss-franc-linked loans. UOKiK concluded that the clauses allowed the bank excessive discretion in setting exchange rates and could cause consumers to pay inflated instalments. The authority imposed a PLN 10,464,213 fine. UOKiK's decision register records that the case was ultimately concluded and the decision was upheld, including by a Supreme Court judgment dated 15 August 2025.
