Canal+ Fined €30 Million for Failing to Honor TPS Merger Commitments
In September 2011, France's Autorité de la concurrence found that Groupe Canal Plus had failed to comply with several commitments, including essential commitments, that had been conditions of the 2006 authorization for the acquisition of TPS and CanalSatellite.
The authority withdrew the original merger authorization and imposed a €30 million financial penalty on Groupe Canal Plus.
