CFR Marfă S.A. Rotten Score Breakdown

The European Commission found in February 2020 that Romanian state-owned rail freight operator CFR Marfă had received around EUR 570 million of incompatible State aid through non-collection of public debts and a debt write-off. The Commission concluded that the measures gave CFR Marfă an unfair advantage over competitors in Romania's liberalised rail-freight market and required Romania to recover the incompatible aid.
