In December 2017, Germany's Bundeskartellamt concluded that CTS Eventim had abused its dominant market position through exclusivity arrangements with event organisers and advance-booking offices. The authority objected to contract clauses requiring organisers to sell a substantial share of their tickets exclusively through CTS Eventim's ticketing system. It found that the arrangements made it harder for competing ticketing services to gain sufficient scale and restricted competition in ticket distribution. The Bundeskartellamt ordered CTS Eventim to amend the affected contracts and limited the degree to which the company could require exclusive ticket allocations in future.
