Eisai agreed to plead guilty and pay $40 million for vitamin E price fixing
On September 9, 1999, Eisai Co., Ltd. agreed to plead guilty and pay a $40 million criminal fine for fixing prices and allocating sales of vitamin E. DOJ said Eisai's cartel participation began in early 1991 and continued into February 1999. The announcement states that sentencing and court acceptance of the plea agreement were still required.
