Slovenia's Competition Protection Office found that Elektro Maribor and four other electricity distributors acted in concert when they announced almost identical household electricity price increases on 22-23 November 2007, all effective on 1 January 2008. The authority concluded that the conduct prevented, restricted or distorted competition in Slovenia. The Supreme Court later upheld the national competition-law finding, while setting aside only the separate EU-law conclusion concerning cross-border trade effects.
