Entain plc

In December 2023, Entain plc entered a four-year deferred prosecution agreement with the Crown Prosecution Service resolving an HM Revenue & Customs investigation into alleged failure-to-prevent-bribery offences connected with its former Turkish-facing business. The DPA contains four draft counts under section 7 of the Bribery Act 2010. Entain agreed that the statement of facts was true and accurate to the best of its knowledge and belief. The alleged conduct covered July 2011 through December 2017. Under the agreement, Entain committed to pay a £465 million financial penalty, disgorge £120 million in profit, contribute £10 million toward CPS and HMRC costs, and make a £20 million charitable payment — £615 million in total financial terms. The DPA means the prosecution is suspended for four years and will be discontinued if Entain complies with its obligations.
