Eurobank Limited

Cyprus's Consumer Protection Service found unfair or non-transparent terms in Eurobank Limited mortgage contracts concerning repayment, collateral, insurance, base interest rates, charges, default, set-off and lien rights. The authority identified 7,456 contracts containing the terms since 8 August 2022. In administrative decision 2025-16, announced on 24 September 2025, it imposed a €600,000 fine, ordered cessation within 60 days and provided for a €1,000 daily fine for continued infringement. Eurobank is the renamed former Hellenic Bank; the authority recorded cooperation, proposed amendments and no evidence of fraudulent intent as mitigating factors.
