Hargreaves Lansdown Asset Management Fined £300,000 Over Secure Growth Portfolio Failings
In June 2004, the UK Financial Services Authority imposed a £300,000 financial penalty on Hargreaves Lansdown Asset Management Limited. The regulator found that during 2001 the firm breached regulatory Principles and Rules in matters connected with its Secure Growth Portfolio, which held shares in split-capital investment trusts, and in the organisation and management of its internal affairs. The Final Notice states that the enforcement action followed the collapse of a number of split-capital investment trusts and an FSA thematic review of firms that were significant participants in the sector. Hargreaves Lansdown Asset Management did not refer the matter to the Financial Services and Markets Tribunal.
