Hikma was required to divest five injectable-drug assets to settle FTC antitrust charges
The U.S. Federal Trade Commission issued a final order settling charges that Hikma Pharmaceuticals PLC's acquisition of rights to drug products and related assets from Ben Venue Laboratories was anticompetitive. The settlement required Hikma to divest assets associated with five generic injectable drugs to Amphastar Pharmaceuticals. The FTC subsequently approved a modified final order incorporating revisions to the divestiture agreement. This was a civil competition settlement and divestiture remedy. This record does not characterize it as a criminal case or state that Hikma admitted criminal wrongdoing.
