Huntington Bancshares Incorporated

The U.S. Department of Justice reached a settlement with Huntington National Bank after investigating restrictions that prevented certain Social Security representative payees from receiving full access to the bank's online banking services. The affected representative payees manage Social Security benefits for beneficiaries with disabilities. DOJ stated that account holders with disabilities and their authorized representatives were barred from full and equal access to numerous online banking services. Huntington agreed to provide full online access and notify current and former affected account holders of its policy changes.
