Metrostav a.s. Rotten Score Breakdown

Czech criminal courts convicted Metrostav in proceedings concerning an attempted fraudulent drawdown of EU and Czech public funds for the reconstruction of Hotel Bohemia in Chrudim. Court findings described an agreement involving representatives of the investor, construction contractor Metrostav and technical supervision to conceal work that had not actually been performed, including fictitious foundation micropiling that was nevertheless invoiced and supported by false documentation intended for a subsidy claim. The threatened loss exceeded CZK 12 million. Later proceedings also addressed transfer of criminal liability to Metrostav Infrastructure after part of Metrostav's business was transferred. In April 2026 the Czech Constitutional Court rejected the successor company's constitutional complaint, leaving the criminal judgments in place.
