Motor Oil (Hellas) Corinth Refineries S.A.

HCC Decision 835/2023 unanimously found that Motor Oil infringed Article 39(5) of the Greek Competition Act by impeding, delaying and hindering an on-site inspection in September 2021, including failing to ensure the integrity and availability of corporate files. The authority imposed a €9.2 million company fine. Motor Oil disputes the finding and announced that it would appeal; this record therefore remains unresolved. The finding concerns obstruction of the inspection and is not a finding that Motor Oil committed the separate suspected petroleum-market competition infringement being investigated.
