On December 29, 2014, Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha agreed to plead guilty and pay a $59.4 million criminal fine for fixing prices, allocating customers and rigging bids for international roll-on/roll-off ocean shipping services. DOJ said NYK participated from at least February 1997 through September 2012. The plea agreement was subject to court approval at announcement.
