NorgesGruppen ASA Rotten Score Breakdown

The Norwegian Competition Authority found that NorgesGruppen, Coop Norge and Rema 1000 unlawfully cooperated by giving each other extensive access to collect retail prices in competitors' stores, increasing price transparency between the chains and weakening incentives to compete aggressively on price. NorgesGruppen received a NOK 2.313 billion fine in August 2024. The Competition Appeals Tribunal unanimously upheld the decision in August 2025, but the grocery groups brought the case before Gulating Court of Appeal in November 2025.
