In May 2019, the Stuttgart Public Prosecutor's Office concluded administrative offence proceedings against Porsche AG concerning diesel-emissions compliance. According to Porsche's official announcement, prosecutors found a negligent breach of supervisory duties in a vehicle-development and testing unit. The failures contributed to deviations from regulatory requirements for certain Porsche vehicles from 2009 onward. The fine notice imposed €535 million, consisting of a €4 million penalty and €531 million representing the forfeiture of economic benefits. Porsche stated that it would not appeal the fine notice, bringing the administrative proceedings against the company to an end.
