Proximus NV Rotten Score Breakdown

In May 2009, the Belgian Competition Authority imposed a €66.3 million fine on Belgacom Mobile, now Proximus, after finding an abuse of dominant position in the professional mobile market during 2004 and 2005. The case concerned a price squeeze: on-net prices offered to professional customers were found to be below the termination rates and other relevant costs that competitors faced when routing calls to the Proximus network. Proximus appealed. Later proceedings partially annulled the 2004 portion because of evidence obtained during an unlawful dawn raid, while proceedings concerning 2005 continued. The case is therefore recorded as unresolved rather than presenting the original €66.3 million decision as an unqualified final outcome.
