Summary
In April 2025, the European Commission fined major car manufacturers for participating in a long-running cartel concerning end-of-life vehicle recycling. The Commission found that manufacturers coordinated to avoid paying dismantlers for processing end-of-life vehicles and agreed not to compete over advertising how recyclable their vehicles were.
