Repsol, S.A. Rotten Score Breakdown

In January 2026 Spain's CNMC found that the Repsol group abused a dominant position in the national wholesale automotive-fuel market. CNMC said that in 2022 Repsol raised wholesale diesel prices charged to rival low-cost stations while simultaneously applying additional retail discounts at Repsol stations, squeezing competitors' margins and preventing effective competition. The proceeding expressly included Repsol, S.A. among the investigated group entities. CNMC imposed EUR 20.5 million in total fines on Repsol group companies and public-contracting prohibitions.
