Roche Holding AG

In June 2016, Roche subsidiary Genentech and OSI Pharmaceuticals agreed to pay $67 million to resolve U.S. False Claims Act allegations concerning marketing of the cancer drug Tarceva. The government alleged that between 2006 and 2011 the companies made misleading representations to healthcare providers about Tarceva's effectiveness for certain non-small cell lung cancer patients despite limited evidence of effectiveness in those patients. Roche's own financial reporting states that Genentech executed settlement agreements with the U.S. Department of Justice and the states resolving the civil investigation. The claims were allegations and there was no determination of civil liability.
