RWE Penalized for Participation in European Paraffin-Wax Cartel
The European Commission found RWE AG and RWE Dea AG liable for participation in a cartel concerning paraffin waxes in the European Economic Area.
The cartel involved price fixing and commercially coordinated conduct in the paraffin-wax market. RWE challenged the Commission decision.
In 2014, the EU General Court partially reduced the infringement period attributed to RWE and set the resulting fine at €35,888,562, while dismissing the remainder of RWE's challenge.
