Telekom Austria EUR 1.5 million abuse-of-dominance fine
At the request of the Austrian Federal Competition Authority, the Cartel Court imposed a EUR 1.5 million fine on Telekom Austria TA AG on 19 March 2009 for abuse of a dominant position. Telekom Austria, the Federal Cartel Prosecutor and the Competition Authority waived appeals, so the decision became final. Telekom Austria EUR 500,000 abuse-of-dominance fine
The Austrian Cartel Court fined Telekom Austria AG EUR 500,000 in March 2004 for abusing its dominant market position through a tariff system in which the most favourable customer access options were tied to tariff models that also included connection services or other benefits in a way that disadvantaged competition. The Austrian Supreme Cartel Court confirmed the decision on 20 December 2004, making it final.
