On October 31, 2024, the Japan Fair Trade Commission issued cease-and-desist and surcharge-payment orders after finding that Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance and other insurers violated Article 3 of the Antimonopoly Act in coordinated quotations, premium levels, underwriting ratios and bidding. Tokio Marine Holdings lists Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance as a group company.
