Finland's Market Court found that UPM-Kymmene Oyj, Stora Enso Oyj and Metsäliitto had engaged in nationwide prohibited price cooperation and information exchange in raw-wood procurement from 1997 to 2004. The companies exchanged information concerning purchase prices and sought to influence future pricing. UPM received immunity from the financial penalty because it was the first participant to disclose the cartel to the competition authority and supplied evidence.
