Banca Transilvania S.A. Rotten Score Breakdown

In June 2026 Romania's Competition Council sanctioned banks for infringing Romanian and EU competition rules through coordinated behaviour during the ROBOR benchmark-setting process. Banca Transilvania received a RON 875.74 million fine in its own name; a separate RON 85.03 million sanction related to conduct attributed to the acquired OTP Bank Romania. The authority said the banks exchanged confidential and strategic information, including pricing information, during fixing.
