Banca Transilvania S.A.

In June 2026 Romania's Competition Council sanctioned banks for infringing Romanian and EU competition rules through coordinated behaviour during the ROBOR benchmark-setting process. Banca Transilvania received a RON 875.74 million fine in its own name; a separate RON 85.03 million sanction related to conduct attributed to the acquired OTP Bank Romania. The authority said the banks exchanged confidential and strategic information, including pricing information, during fixing. Banca Transilvania rejects the findings and intends to challenge the decision, so this record is marked unresolved.
