On September 9, 1999, Daiichi Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., a predecessor that later combined with Sankyo to form Daiichi Sankyo, agreed to plead guilty and pay a $25 million criminal fine for fixing prices and allocating sales of vitamin B5.
