The European Commission found Deutsche Telekom liable with its subsidiary Slovak Telekom for abuse of a dominant position in the Slovak broadband market. The conduct involved restrictions on access to the local loop and a margin squeeze that hindered competing broadband providers. Deutsche Telekom was also subjected to a separate fine reflecting repeated infringement. On appeal, the EU General Court upheld the core infringement but reduced the amounts.
