Orange Polska S.A.

In February 2026 the President of UOKiK issued decisions finding that Orange Polska unlawfully changed prepaid-contract terms and charged customers a number-maintenance fee when they were inactive, for example when they did not top up or generate sufficient usage. UOKiK said the clauses were prohibited and inconsistent with the nature of prepaid services, and imposed total fines of PLN 34,030,000. UOKiK found that Orange Polska misled consumers in advertising for Neostrada promotions by prominently advertising low monthly prices while failing to clearly communicate additional costs applicable to customers without a landline. The authority originally imposed a fine exceeding PLN 16 million. In April 2019 the Court of Competition and Consumer Protection upheld the finding that the advertising could mislead consumers, while reducing the fine to more than PLN 13 million.
