On March 16, 2015, Rogers Communications Inc. reached an agreement with the Competition Bureau to provide up to an estimated $5.42 million in refunds. The Bureau concluded that Rogers made or permitted false or misleading representations about premium-text services and that customers were charged for services they did not intend to purchase or agree to pay for. Eligible charges ran from January 1, 2011 through August 31, 2013. The settlement ended the Bureau's litigation against Rogers without a trial judgment.
